Year 2009 was declared as the International Year of Astronomy by UNESCO and the International Astronomical Union. "El.Obs.Ath." as an official Communicating Supporter of IYA2009 will organize a series of events for the dissemination of angling astronomy in Athens but also in throughout Greece.
Objectives of the events are as follows:
Informing the public about astronomy from ancient times until today.
Informing the public on issues such as the importance of Light Pollution.
To gain as much as possible more people the experience of observation through a telescope.
But most important and most fruitful purpose of these events is to see, learn and love the general public starriness the sky.
Our motto: THE UNIVERSE YOURS TO DISCOVER.
